In a RTHK interview, Prof. WONG Yung Hou, Dean of Science and Vice-chair of the Planning Committee for the New Medical School said that HKUST is committed to incorporating latest technology such as AI into the School’s curriculum.

HKUST students has developed a new aerial rescue system using drones to deliver images and critical supplies, such as first aid kits, before ambulance and fire services arrive.

HKUST has officially established a strategic partnership with Huashan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University and Ruijin Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.

CSE/CBE Asst. Prof. CHEN Hao introduced SmartPath, which demonstrates high accuracy in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative cancer diagnosis, requiring only about one minute to complete a diagnosis.  

The State Key Laboratory of Climate Resilience for Coastal Cities, jointly established by HKUST and PolyU earlier this year, will be inaugurated on December 4. The lab aims to enhance the coastal region's resilience to extreme weather events.  

In an RTHK interview, Co-chair of the Medical Education Task Force Prof. FOK Tai-Fai mentioned that preparations for the new media school are underway intensely. Key efforts include discussing the cooperation details with the Government, deliberating the teaching hospital arrangements with the Hospital Authority, launching a global recruitment scheme, and developing the curriculum. 

In an interview, P Prof. Nancy IP emphasized that HKUST has strong research capabilities and a solid financial foundation, enabling it to establish a medical school.  The School will integrate medicine and technology to train a new generation of tech-savvy doctors with clinical expertise.  

In an article on how technology has empowered the 15th National Games, it was mentioned that the volunteer service stations have applied the micro-nano passive refrigeration coating technology developed by HKUST.  

HKUST held the Eighth Inauguration Ceremony of Named Professorships to honor seven outstanding faculty members and acknowledge the generous support of their donors and supporters in promoting HKUST's dedicated pursuit of academic and research excellence.

Provost, CSE and ECE Chair Prof. GUO Yike, has been elected as an International Member of The Chinese Academy of Engineering in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the Information and Electronics Engineering field.
