SBM signed an MoU with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). SBM will team up with ACCA to integrate emerging topics  from ACCA Qualification and ACCA Learning into undergraduate courses.    

The University announced the signing of strategic MoUs with three leading affiliated hospitals of Zhejiang University School of Medicine: The First Affiliated Hospital, The Second Affiliated Hospital, and Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital to advance medical education and research.

HKUST researchers, led by CIVL Chair Prof. SU Hui, have developed the world’s first AI model combining satellite data and deep diffusion technology to forecast convective weather events 4 hours in advance. 

A research team from HKUST has found that AI tends to be overconfident when dealing with chaotic or contradictory information.  

The "Worm Dragon" team from HKUST placed third among more than 2,600 teams worldwide in the latest Bloomberg Global Trading Challenge.

A HKUST research team has developed RebuttalAgent, the first AI academic rebuttal system incorporating "theory of mind".  

P Prof. Nancy IP attended the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, where she joined global leaders in important dialogues on the global economy.  

A research team led by MAE Assoc. Head and Assoc. Prof. Larry LI, along with PhD student Jungjin PARK, has developed an AI-enabled AR platform for immersive learning. 

A team from HKUST won the Gold Award in the AI and data science category of the local university open group at the Techathon+ 10th Anniversary Finale for their Cresento project, as well as the "Best Presentation Award" voted by the audience.

HKUST has signed an MoU with Qatar Foundation's Academic Bridge Program (ABP), alongside HKU, marking a significant milestone in the program's international engagement. 

Organized by SENG “STEAM Day@HKUST” is taking place from January 22 to 24, 2026, on campus. 130 activities and programs are designed to spark interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).
