The HKMA and HKUST Business School have jointly worked on cybersecurity research to ensure the resilience of HK's fintech sector.  

LIFS Prof. ZHANG Lisheng and his research team have made a significant breakthrough in RNA epigenetics, developing a highly sensitive early screening technology that is clinically applicable.  

Researchers from HKUST and Kling AI published a paper proposing the UnityVideo multimodal AI framework, which can simultaneously perform multiple tasks such as video generation and recognition, significantly improving the understanding of the physical world and the realism of the generated content.

A joint research led by OCES/LIFS Chair Prof. QIAN Peiyuan, has achieved a significant breakthrough in understanding the adaptive strategies of the deep-sea black coral Bathypathes pseudoalternata and its symbiotic microbiome.

Two HKUST entries made the list in the “2025 Top 10 Innovation and Technology News in HK” organized by Beijing-HK Academic Exchange Center. The research was led by President and State Key Laboratory of Molecular Neuroscience Director Prof. Nancy IP and ECE Prof. SHEN Yajing, respectively. 

Offered by the PHYS and co-organized by the HK Academy for Gifted Education, the “exploration and practice of quantum technology” program spans nine months and is divided into three stages to introduce students to the quantum world. 

CSE Asst. Prof. HE Junxian has collaborated with Alibaba to develop a new AI code scoring system called SWE-RM, offering a comprehensive evaluation of programming solutions to accurately assesses quality and credibility.

The HKUST Digital Finance Lab and HashKey jointly published the “2026 Digital Asset Industry Outlook: Top 10 Emerging Trends”, which identifies key trends including AI trading agents, accelerated asset tokenization, and stablecoin integration. 

RO Director and PHYS Chair Prof. LAW Kam-Tuen discussed his research on topological quantum materials. His team has synthesized and measured new materials to investigate the properties of "quasiparticles".
