The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is honored to host the Forum of Young Global Leaders 2025 for a five-day Education Module titled "Our AI Future Is Now." In its third year, this immersive program runs from December 1 to 5 on the HKUST campus and brings together close to 40 world's most promising young leaders and entrepreneurs to explore the transformative power of artificial intelligence (AI) across key industries.The module marks a prelude to HKUST's upcoming 35th anniversary celebrations. It will examine AI's profound impact – from its economic and scientific influence to its biomedical and cultural contributions. Participants will engage in expert-led discussions, interactive demos, and deep dive into topics such as AI-driven art-tech in revolutionizing the creative process.

The Inaugural International Forum on Interdisciplinary Education (the Forum), organized by the Academy of Interdisciplinary Studies (AIS) of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), was successfully held on November 16, 2024 on the Clear Water Bay campus. The Forum brought together university leaders from around the globe to exchange innovative practices in interdisciplinary education and foster collaboration across diverse fields of study.

Taking place in the Greater China for the first time from November 15-17, 2024, with the theme “Frontiers of New Knowledge in Science,” the symposium featured an impressive lineup of nearly 40 speakers, including four Nobel laureates Professor Stefan HELL, Sir Tim HUNT, Professor K. Barry SHARPLESS and Sir Gregory WINTER. 

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is excited to kick off a prestigious three-day “Molecular Frontiers Symposium” at Shaw Auditorium on campus today. The high-level event showcases a lineup of internationally renowned scientists including four Nobel laureates, serving as a dynamic thought-leadership platform for exchanging ideas among brilliant and young minds. Around 40 leading molecular scientists, including Nobel laureates Prof. Stefan HELL, Sir Tim HUNT, Prof. K. Barry SHARPLESS, and Sir Gregory WINTER, will share their knowledge and insights spanning the latest development in genome editing, fluorescence microscopy and protein engineering in this inaugural symposium in Greater China entitled "Frontiers of New Knowledge in Science".  

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and Li & Fung, a member of Fung Group, jointly announced today the establishment of the HKUST Li & Fung Supply Chain Institute (the Institute), aimed at advancing research and practices in global supply chain management (SCM) innovation. The Institute brings together HKUST’s research excellence and Li & Fung’s industry expertise in supply chain management to drive real-world impact across the Greater Bay Area, Greater China, Asia, and globally, while contributing to Hong Kong’s development into a multinational supply chain management center — a strategic objective highlighted in the city’s latest Budget. It aims to reach these goals by engaging in collaborative research, developing business intelligence through industry research and policy studies, and fostering talent development through customized executive education and partnership programs.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), The Joseph Needham Foundation for Science and Civilisation (JNFSC), Needham Research Institute (Cambridge), Jao Tsung-I Petite Ecole (JTIPE) of the University of Hong Kong (HKU), and the Faculty of Asian and Middle East Studies of the University of Cambridge joined hands to host a conference titled “Needham’s Dialogical Vision: Understanding Science as a Multi-Civilizational Outcome.”
