HKUST and HKUST(GZ) Present SURREALITY MR × AI Digital Art Cross-City Exhibition
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), in collaboration with the Center for Metaverse and Computational Creativity at HKUST(Guangzhou), presents the SURREALITY Mixed Reality (MR) × Artificial Intelligence (AI) Digital Art Cross-City Exhibition. As part of HKUST's 35th-anniversary celebrations, an exclusive media preview of the world's first large-scale, cross-regional MR × AI digital art exhibition was held at the University's Clear Water Bay campus.Showcasing selected works by renowned international and Chinese Mainland digital artists, as well as faculty and students from both campuses, the exhibition integrates creativity with Virtual Reality (VR), MR, and AI technologies. It transforms the campus into a global hub for arts innovation and technological excellence.

HKUST and CICC Co-host 2026 Hong Kong Innovation Forum Top Experts Convene to Chart Strategies for Advancing Hong Kong's I&T Development
Co-hosted by The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and China International Capital Corporation (CICC), the 2026 Hong Kong Innovation Forum concluded successfully yesterday. Centered on "Building a Global Innovation Ecosystem," the Forum explored the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and innovation and technology (I&T) industries. It brought together prominent experts from Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland to engage in comprehensive discussions on the global innovation landscape, Hong Kong's development as an international I&T hub, the integration and synergy between industry and financial capital in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), technology ethics, and smart society governance. The event attracted approximately 400 participants from government departments, academia, industry, and investment community.

HKUST Innovations Shine at the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) today showcased its award-winning inventions, which were recognized at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva (Geneva Inventions Expo). The University's 62 participating teams won a total of 62 accolades, including 13 Gold Medals with Congratulations of the Jury, 20 Gold Medals, 20 Silver Medals, and 9 Bronze Medals. This year's achievements set a new record for the University and make it the highest-awarded higher education institution in Hong Kong.

HKUST Develops First AI Toolkit “GrainBot” to Automate Quantitative Microstructure Analysis
A research team from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has developed GrainBot, an AI-enabled toolkit that automatically extracts and quantifies multiple microstructural features from microscopy images. Designed to meet the growing need for data-driven and autonomous research workflows in materials science, the tool provides a systematic method for converting complex image information into quantitative data, thereby accelerating the discovery and development of next-generation materials.
