ECE Asst. Prof. TU Fengbin has been named one of MIT Technology Review’s Innovators Under 35 Asia Pacific, making him the only young researcher from a HK university to receive the recognition. In addition, Stanford University released the “World’s Top 2% Scientists 2025” list, which includes 204 scholars from HKUST.

HKUST plans to admit about 300 students through China's 2026 national college entrance exam ("Gaokao"). These students will be admitted via an independent enrollment system, which will not affect their admission through the unified enrollment system.

QS released the latest global rankings for MBA programs. HKUST ranked 49th this year, overtaking HKU to become the top-ranked university in HK. In response to a media enquiry, HKUST stated that rankings are one metric among many for evaluating university performance, emphasizing long-term teaching and research standards demonstrated by the University are more important. The University's MBA program, highly recognized across various indicators, will continue to evolve.
