HKUST hosted the official opening ceremony for the "Jockey Club i-Village" (i-Village) at its Clear Water Bay campus. Supported by a donation of over HK$203 million from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the project aims to provide students with a high-quality residential accommodation that integrates living and learning, enriching their personal development and educational experience.
CIVL Head and Chair Prof. ZHANG Limin received a Certificate of Merit at the Fourth National Award for Excellence in Innovation, in recognition of his pioneering research achievements in geotechnical engineering and his outstanding contributions to national disaster prevention and mitigation.
HKUST and Gobi Partners have established the Gobi-Redbird Innovation Fund (Gobi-RIF), with funding support from the Hong Kong Investment Corporation. The fund will invest in early-stage tech projects incubated by HKUST. HKUST and Elsevier jointly released a report titled 'Driving Socioeconomic Impact Through Research and Innovation: Insights from HKUST.' The report highlighted that HKUST's research output has achieved a 10% growth rate, higher than that of other local institutions, with approximately 1,670 patent applications and 700 grants over the same period.
