HKUST and Fudan University announced a significant expansion of their strategic partnership, aimed at establishing a global academic exchange and innovation hub in new engineering disciplines. An MoU was signed to promote academic exchange and talent cultivation. 

ISD/ECE Prof. TSUI Chi-Ying appeared on RTHK’s Infinite Future program, sharing his views on chip design and AI development. 

HKGAI, led by HKUST with multiple universities’ participation, was featured in the "HK innovation insight" program.  Provost and HKGAI Director Prof. GUO Yike introduced HKGAI to visitors through his digital avatar at the entrance. This year, HKGAI launched HK's first AI large model, HKGAI V1, with several applications based on this model under development. 

In Master Insight’s article series on “Study Hong Kong”,  P Prof. Nancy IP shared the university’s preparation and strategies to welcome outstanding students from around the world. HKUST is positioned as a leading institution for research in Asia, aiming to cultivate leaders in innovative technologies and business. 

A high-level delegation led by P Prof. Nancy IP, has successfully concluded a strategic visit to Sweden, forging deeper partnerships with the country's leading academic and research institutions. The visit reinforced HK's role as a vital bridge for scientific and technological collaboration between Sweden and China. 

A team from led by LIFS Assoc. Prof. LIANG Chun, has developed a vaginal gel that inhibits DRIPs for cervical precancerous lesions. The gel selectively induces apoptosis of abnormal cancer cells and precancerous lesions while protecting healthy tissues. Set for release in 2031, the entire course of treatment is expected to cost approximately HK$10,000.

InvestHK announced the signing of an MOU between HKUST and a consortium of French companies to launch a pioneering low carbon retrofit pilot project, marking a pivotal step toward achieving HK's carbon neutrality goal by 2050.  

A research team led by OCES Head and Chair Prof. GAN Jianping and MATH Prof. YANG Can has developed the STIMP, a novel AI-powered tool for diagnosing coastal ocean productivity and ecosystem health.  In tests across four representative global coastal regions, STIMP significantly outperformed existing geoscience tools, reducing the imputation MAE (mean absolute error) by up to 81.39% and prediction AME by 58.99%. 

HKUST and Sino Group officially launched the finals of the 15th HKUST-SINO One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition. The winning teams will share over HK$1 million in seed funding to help realize their ambitions. The milestone anniversary features a record-breaking 348 teams from HK and 22 countries and regions across five continents.

HKUST SBM and Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Business (NUGSB) in Kazakhstan have signed an MoU to launch a joint Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program in Eurasian business, the first of its kind in Asia.  This partnership will help solidify HK's position as a global talent hub, catalyze the talent flow between HK and Central Asia, as well as driving shared growth, innovation and cross-cultural understanding.

Head of HKUST's Institute for Financial Research (IFR), Prof. TANG Bo and Matrixport’s Head of Matrixdock platform, Ms. Eva MENG,  released a joint research report titled "Tokenized Gold: Redefining Financial Infrastructure for the World's Oldest and Most Trusted Asset Class".  The report examines efficiency challenges of the new financial paradigm, highlighting how gold tokenization can underpin emerging financial architecture.
