The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London supported the "BizInsight Forum and Alumni Get-together", organized by HKUST Business School at the London Stock Exchange in the UK .

HKUST and Uzbekistan's "El-Yurt Umidi" Foundation have formalized a strategic partnership through an MOA.  Under the agreement, both parties have pledged to strengthen educational cooperation through scholarships, academic exchanges, and executive training.

HKUST has outlined plans to build a third medical school building in Ngau Tam Mei within the Northern Metropolis. VPRD Prof. Tim CHENG stated that HK has a sufficient student pool and hopes to attract outstanding students.

IAS Paul C W Chu Professor and PHYS Chair Prof. LUK Kam-Biu has been elected a Member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences in recognition of his outstanding contributions to fundamental physics.

HKUST joined hands with other institutions to host the 9th International Symposium on Edible & Medicinal Plant Resources and the Bioactive Ingredients in Kashgar, Xinjiang.  HKUST Center for Chinese Medicine R&D Prof. Karl TSIM emphasized that the event was guided by a dual "academia + industry" approach. 

MUSICO, the world’s first lightweight, high‑resolution, high‑precision synergistic observatory for CO₂ and CH₄ emission point sources, was launched into space aboard the Tianzhou-10 cargo spacecraft and has arrived at China's Tiangong space station.  The project is led by an interdisciplinary team from HKUST’s CIVL, EMIA, ENVR, CSE, and PPOL.

PHYS Asst. Prof. WANG Jue has been awarded the 2026 Croucher Tak Wah Mak Innovation Award for his groundbreaking research in experimental condensed matter physics. 

Wen Wei Po featured HKUST's BSc in Innovation, Design and Technology as part of its series on universities' STEAM programs. 

HKUST will host the 2nd AI Film Festival at the Shaw Auditorium.  As one of the significant events celebrating HKUST's 35th anniversary, the Festival is themed "New Boundaries, New Life".  

CC Prof. Harry SHUM, also Chairman of Board of Directors of the HK AI Research and Development Institute, discussed the history, potential, and limitations of AI. 

HKSREC, headed by MAE Prof. GAO Yang, has collaborated with 30 universities and space organizations to develop an AI-powered porter for the Chang'e-8 mission, scheduled for launch in 2029.  

A research team led by SHSS Dean Prof. LI Ping that a brief one-on-one pre-lecture conversation - whether with a human or an AI instructor – improves students' neural synchrony and learning outcomes.
